Every truck driver knows how important their truck is. Without it their vacations and livelihood could suffer. So they take the time to look after it, making sure it receives proper care and maintenance. They want their rig to perform at its best and stay running for years to come.
However, taking care of your truck is only half the battle. You also need to take care of yourself! For someone whose spends most of his or her time on the road, this is no easy task. Semi-Annual Driver Meeting

Safety is something we take seriously at T&P Trucking, so it is important that we help our drivers stay up to date with the latest safety news and practices. With that in mind, on November 17 we held our semi-annual Driver Meeting in one of the dining halls at the new built Civic Hotel in Surrey, BC. It was awesome to be in a brand new facility. Everything was new and the internet speeds were amazing.

We hope everyone is having a great November. As this years Remembrance Day falls on Sunday November 11th, the T&P office will be mostly closed on Monday, November 12th with just a small number of employees available.

Bungee Or Tie Down?

It wasn’t long after the first elastic band was patented in 1922 that the bungee cord was created and it too would prove to be a useful tool for pretty much everyone. Today, whether you drive a 80,000 lb transport truck or two door hatchback you will find many uses for a good bungee cord. However despite its many uses it IS NOT and SHOULD NOT be used in lieu of a proper tie-down strap.

How Dangerous is the Wildfire Smoke?

It feels like forever since we have seen blue skies or a normal looking sun. With wildfires raging across BC, thick smoke has covered the province and has reached all the way to parts of Manitoba.

With air quality advisories reaching dangerous levels many are wondering how what that danger actually means to them, how to protect themselves, and when will the smoke and haziness end. All of us here at T&P Trucking also wanted to know so we did some research and this is what we found.

A New Addition

If you have ever visited our Langley location, you would have noticed an old yellow ramp sitting in the middle of our loading yard. A few years ago we decided to upgrade it with proper safety railings and a new paint job, but we knew one day it would have to go.

Though that ramp served us well for over 8 years, we were finding that lately, it was needing regular repairs. The frequency of repairs had increased to the point that it needed some type of service every few months. Last month we decided it had ramped its last load. On that note, the whole T&P team is excited to have a brand new addition to our yard – a beautiful, custom built, loading ramp.
