Update March 19, 2020
Our company has taken a few steps to prevent the spread of viruses in our office. We have reduced the number of persons working in the office by sending some employees to work from a remote location. We have also has posted new prevention procedures for visitors, and internal staff responsibilities, in order to prevent the spread of viruses.
We are ready and willing to close our office and work from home should the spread of COVID-19 continue at an aggressive pace, or should the governments order all businesses to close and citizens to shelter in place.
Update March 18, 2020
The Canadian and US governments have both announced a unilateral closure of the Canada-USA border to all non-essential traffic. This does not include commercial traffic, although commercial drivers are being told to self-isolate if they have returned from affected zones in the USA. Many shippers and receivers on both sides of the border have changed they procedures in how they handle commercial drivers visiting their locations, and we have asked our drivers to abide by all the programs that are in place.
Update March 17, 2020
The Canadian government has instructed non-essential businesses to close if they cannot meet the social distancing requirements. Restaurants, bars, places of worship, and other public spaces must close to prevent social gatherings. We will adjust our operations to abide by this.
Update March 16, 2020
The Canadian government has closed the border to visitors to Canada who are not US or Canadian residents. However, they have stated that commercial traffic will be unaffected. Our office and fleet will remain fully operational. We are taking steps to sanitize our office and surrounding areas and are prepared to transition to working remotely if the need arises. We are asking our drivers to abide by the temporary policies set in place by our customers that they visit.
The State of Washington announced a state-wide ban on all gatherings over 50 persons in attendance, and has closed all public social/lounge spaces such as movie theaters, restaurants, and coffee shops. Grocery stores, fuel stations, banks and other necessary amenities will remain open. We ask all our drivers to follow temporary procedures set up by our customers at their shipping and receiving locations that they visit.
T & P Trucking is aware of and continually monitoring the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic in North America. We are currently planning procedures and an updated statement regarding this issue.
Currently, we will remain open and fully operational. Should we need to, we will transition to working remotely in order to prevent the spread of illnesses and to safeguard our team members. We will take all precautionary measures necessary to ensure the safety of our employees, drivers, customers and the public.
We recommend that all employees and drivers implement the following hygene practices always in their day to day activities to prevent the spread of sickness and disease:
We will continue to monitor the government agencies for updates regarding this pandemic and if we need to take further action. We will update you further as we learn more. Thank you!

On Monday February 24, 2020, the BC government announced the new Interim Business Property Tax Relief program that will be effective for the next 5 years. This interim program will allow local governments to provide immediate property tax relief for the 2020 tax year. This relief will apply to small businesses, like ours at T & P Trucking, that are struggling with high lease costs as a result of years of rapidly increasing property values.

While we didn’t do it for the rewards or recognition, we’re sure you’ll agree that it’s always nice when someone recognizes and appreciates your work.
