Some say that the more you perform a task, the better you become at it. So if it’s your first time doing something and you want to strengthen your abilities, it is only logical to repeat it over and over until you get better. That sounds pretty normal, but is there a danger of becoming too good at something?

Once again there was a great turnout at this years T&P Trucking Annual Golf Tournament on September 17 at Tall Timbers Golf Course in Langley, BC. As T&P Trucking was hosting the event, we had all of our departments contributing to help this years tournament be a success. From sales and accounting, to dispatch and logistics, everyone did a fantastic job helping to facilitate the needs of our guests. Despite the less than ideal weather, we still had a great time socializing with our customers and reliving some of the highlights from last year.
Today it is glaringly obvious to anyone in the trucking industry that we are facing a driver shortage. With trucking being such an important part of the North American commercial industry, how could there possibly be a need for drivers? Why is this an issue today? How did such a powerful industry get into such trouble?
We thought it would be nice to take a break from all of the talk of ELDs and the ELD mandate in trucking news, and examine the variety and uniqueness of the different types of trailers used in the trucking industry. While some trailers only have one specific use, others are quite versatile and can be used for almost anything.

Back in April, we wrote an article discussing the challenges facing a trucking company with regards to the implementation of ELDs. Since then, we have been busy in continuing efforts of research and deliberation as to what type of product would be best suited for a small to medium-sized Canadian company like T&P Trucking.

Aerodynamics: The aircraft engine spools up and the turbines start spinning. The rotation of the blades move faster and faster until you only see a blur. Fuel and spark are introduced and what follows is a powerful explosion. This explosion thrusts the metal beast forward and up into the horizon.
You don’t have to go far to find a job that doesn’t come with some type of pre-associated stereotype. Whether it’s the classic ‘plumber’s crack’ or the ‘sleazy car salesman’, it seems every industry will call a certain image to mind at first thought. A profession that has some of the worst negative stereotypes is the trucker. What comes to your mind when you think of a typical truck driver?
