Should You Bother Getting a Dash Cam?
We have all experienced it.
You’re cruising through traffic, everything seems to be going fine. Out of no where someone cuts in front of you, causing you to slam on your breaks and barely escape ramming them. While in this scenario no one was hurt, the next time you may not be as fortunate.
Is there anything you can do to stop these idiot drivers?
What Can You Do?
Unfortunately there is not anything you can actually do to stop bad drivers from interacting with you. But this is where a dash cam comes into effect. In most accidents it ends up being a “he said – she said” dispute, and if ICBC cannot determine who is to blame they split it down the middle. A dash cam in this case could make all the difference.
A dash cam is unbiased and captures everything that happens. It is the extra step you need if you do not want the outcome of an accident blamed on you. If you are a truck driver or a commuter than you spend a lot of time on the road, so the likelihood that you will be involved in a car accident is higher. Also, it seems that almost any type of accident easily ends up costing over a few thousand dollars. Why not purchase an affordable camera than could potentially save you thousands later?
Which Cam Should I get?
There are literally hundreds of possible dash cams you could buy. Some have features you need while others have way too many useless features. This is where T&P Trucking would like to help. We will be reviewing a number of dash cams and going over whether the features they offer are of any use to you. While the dash cams we review can be used by any type of driver, we will be focusing on how they pertain to a truck driver.
To get things started, here is the first video review of the Falcon Electronics Dual Dash Cam.
Do you use a dashcam? Has it helped you when sorting out blame in an accident?
